Woman Never Changed Her Car's Oil in 8 Years – This is What Her Engine Looked Like
They say that you should change your car's oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, or every six months; whichever comes first. But some people believe that it's all a hoax, and oil changes aren't really necessary.
"We as a society need to start ignoring the oil change warning in cars," the popular Twitter page pudding person tweeted. "It’s a scam, don’t worry about it."
"I haven’t gotten my oil changed in 5 years," @estrojenniferr agreed. "When the light comes on I just top it off with baby oil and it runs fine.
But when motor oil gets old, it turns to sludge, and no longer effectively takes heat away from the engine. That could mean potentially disastrous results down the road.
This woman obviously subscribes to the first train of thought, however, and hasn't changed her Kia Rio's oil in eight years and 115,000 miles of driving! Somehow, it's lasted long enough to give us this fantastic video. It looks worse than a smoker's lungs!
"Definitely makes me want to buy a 2015 Kia Rio and actually do oil changes," Brad Bouchard commented. "Should last 30-40 years or so."
